OUR ROOMS

The MDO is divided into seven age groups. The classroom distribution is based on the age of the child as of September 1st of the current school year, not developmental skills. If there is a strong concern by the parent about his/her child's developmental maturity, exceptions can be made if there is classroom availability.

Babies (2-8 months)             Young Two's

Crawlers (8-12 months)        Older Two's

Walkers (12-18 months)        Three's

Toddler's (18-24 months)

*Your child will remain in the same class for the entire academic school year*

OUR TEACHERS

Our employees must first be Christians and meet approval by the Central Baptist Church staff before any interviewing can take place. The hiring process includes a criminal background check. Our employees are required to earn 15 training hours and remain current with their CPR certifications.

OUR DAY

Your child's day will begin with a warm welcome and an opening activity. Beginning with our Walker age group, each class will rotate through recess, art, music/games, free play centers, and bible story. Our art projects will be hands-on and age appropriate. The program will provide a morning snack. Lunch follows the rotations, then on to nap time. Each child is encouraged to rest quietly before preparing for pickup. Remember, each day is different and these schedules are meant to be flexible to meet the needs of the class. Special activities and parties will be announced throughout the year.

DISCIPLINE

Redirection is the method used most often. If a problem with a child continues to arise, our policy is to discuss the problem with the child and to separate him/her from the situation or others if necessary. If a severe or recurring problem exists, parents will be notified. We reserve the right to remove any child from the MDO program who consistently causes harm to himself or others.

SIGNING IN/OUT SECURITY

Check-in begins promptly at 9:00am. We ask that our "Babies" class be walked to the room, signed in, and dropped off. All others will sign in at the nursery counter then parents will take them to their room for drop off. Never leave your child unsupervised. Sign-in/out sheets will ask for your name, contact information for the day, and for the person who will pick up your child. If you are not picking up your child, please leave that person's number as well. If someone other than the parent is picking up the child, a photo ID must be shown before the release of your child to that person.

WHAT TO BRING

In general, all children need to bring a cold-serve lunch with lunch boxes and cups labeled (all classes) and nap mats (Walkers class and up). Remember, our floors are tile and our rooms are cool, so please provide a comfortable nap mat and blanket (each labeled). Please bring a change of clothes for those messy times. Due to the lack of space, nap mats and clothes will be sent home daily.

HEALTHY, HAPPY CHILDREN

The health and well-being of your child is of critical importance to us. Please do not bring a sick child to the program. If a child shows any signs of illness, the parent will be contacted. In order to maintain a well-child environment, it will take the cooperation and courtesy of all involved.

ENROLLMENT INTERESTS OR MORE INFORMATION

If you are interested in enrolling your child and are new to the program, please contact the MDO office to check availability. Registration packets are available that outline registration and tuition fees and other important school information. After registering your child, you will be given an enrollment packet requiring specific information about you and your child such as emergency medical information, etc.
