The Nail Pouch Ministry serves members of Central who are not able to handle their own home repair and maintenance needs. The needs of Central's elderly, widows, physically challenged and financially struggling will be considered. Other needs of the B/CS community are also considered. We are a part of the Men's Ministry of Central Baptist Church.
Who can be a part of the Nail Pouch Gang?
Anyone, young or old, who is good with their hands, mechanically inclined or just feels called to share in the fellowship and growth that comes from helping others. A sign-up card is available at the Men's Ministry table in the church foyer.
How are projects identified?
Individuals who have (or know someone who has) home repair or maintenance needs are encouraged to contact Wendy Kreider atwkreider@cbcbryan.orgor (979) 776-9977 ext.201, orDerek Dictsonat ddictson@gmail.com or (979)-575-4496. As needs are identified, a member of the Nail Pouch Ministry will make contact to determine how to respond.
Mobilizing the Gang
Nail Pouch Ministry members will be notified as needs arise. The project, skills, materials, tools, and time requirements will be communicated. Those whose schedules permit will be requested to respond to the Nail Pouch Ministry coordinator, Derek Dictson, and declare their availability. It will be the coordinator's responsibility to schedule the project.
Scope of projects
The Nail Pouch Gang will attempt any project that is within the abilities of those who can participate. Participation by all members in every project is not possible or expected due to work, school and other obligations. Our goal is to be able to put together a capable crew that can meet the needs as they are identified.
What do you need to bring?
Men normally furnish their own tools such as hammers, saws, paint brushes, etc. in addition to their time. Project materials are funded primarily by those needing the assistance, individual donations, and Central.
