Sportsmen's Outdoor Extravaganza

What:

The Sportsmen’s Outdoor Extravaganza is a major new event hosted by the Central Baptist Church men’s ministry. The Extravaganza will feature dozens of exhibits and demonstrations by local businesses as well as a variety of participatory activities for adults and kids to test their skills and have fun together. The day will end with a special dinner featuring African big-game hunter and theologian Paige Patterson, who will provide his unique perspective to hunting and his relationship to Jesus Christ.

Who:

The Sportsmen’s Outdoor Extravaganza is open to all men and children, ages 13 and up, who enjoy outdoor activities.

Paige Patterson is a different kind of preacher. First, he is from Texas, so he is usually armed. As a matter of fact, he holds membership in Safari Club International and the National Rifle Association. He has hunted in many nations, but especially Africa. As a scuba diver, he has dived the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, the Andaman Sea, Belize and elsewhere. He has visited many of the Natural Wonders of the World in 72 nations. During the sixties, he ran a coffee house in the New Orleans French Quarter and worked with Biker gangs. He has taken more than thirty African species. When he is not diving or hunting, he serves as president of a school to prepare pastors and missionaries.
